Portable Filter Cart Standard Features
High/low pressure switch
- High/low pressure switch which protects the pump from running dry
- A high setpoint of 70 PSI ensures that the housing does not exceed maximum pressure rating of 80 PSI
- If the barrel, tote, or reservoir being filtered has a low fluid level below the suction hose, the pump may begin to run dry. Without any fluid being pushed through the filters, the pressure will begin to drop.
- A low setpoint of 7 PSI will turn the system off to prevent damage from running dry.
Transfer feature to bypass filtration
- A 3-way ball valve allows the user to quickly and easily switch from filtration mode to transfer mode.
- In transfer mode, fluid bypasses the filter elements to prevent loading the filter elements whenever filtration is not required, such as emptying a reservoir for disposal.
Flow control gate valve
- The flow control gate valve connects the suction and discharge sides of the pump.
- During cold startups or when filtering high-viscosity oils, opening the flow control gate valve reduces flow through the filter elements to help lower startup pressures and prevent pump cavitation.
- Once the fluid has warmed up, the flow control gate valve can be closed once again.
